(first post!)
Starting it off this month was the divisional event Mr. & Ms. Dragon! It was held at Kentwood on February 10 and all the proceeds went toward our district project KCCP. With over 100 attendees, our division raised $1151! At this event, we watched the amazing performers sing, dance and even eat fruits with the peels. Aubrey Agustiano (of our very own Kentlake) and Ryan Nguyen (of Kent-Meridian) took home the crowns.
A week later on February 17, there were two events: the Over the Rainbow fundraiser and Siahna's Benefit Concert! At Over the Rainbow Tea Bar in Renton, our division raised $400 for KCCP and were provided with delicious bubble tea (a total win-win)! Thank you to everyone that went!
Later that day, Siahna's concert was a hit! She sang beautifully (as always) at Carco Theatre and raised even more money for KCCP (dang we got a lot of money for the district project this month). With her being someone from our club, we couldn't be more proud of her success! Buy her EP album Untouchable on iTunes now :-)
In the midst of Mid-Winter break, we held an Innies Ignite/Pre-PreCon DCM on February 21. The incoming officers from each school got to know each other very well and discuss new goals for their clubs. It helped spark new friendships and let them learn more about their positions and what they need to do. We also got to learn more about DCON and got a better idea of what to expect. All of the Kentlake attendees are VERY excited to go to Portland and can't wait to meet other key clubbers! :^D
Finally, February's Green Kent Work Party was a success even though only 3 people showed up. While the social aspect of key club is fun, the community service is very important as well. We really need support and want to help people in need as much as we can. I extremely encourage y'all to come to all the community service events you can, that way we can represent Kentlake in a good way :-))
